NURTURE YOUR INNER WARRIOR
An unlikely character to end up as a martial arts instructor, Edward Jackson found Brazilian jiu-jitsu as a getaway from his job as an account executive for a Fortune 500 company in 2008. In the years since then, while working and caring for a family, he’s found time to delve deeply into the art and train with many notable and accomplished fighters and grapplers. Most important in this journey was finding that the pursuit of mastery in Brazilian jiu-jitsu was a conduit for innumerable life lessons. Getting the opportunity to teach and share with others both the art, and the parallels to many of life’s challenges awakened the passion to share jiu-jitsu as a vocation. Edward regularly travels to learn and competes in local tournaments. He holds a brown belt under Scott Gave and Jeff Serafin.
People practice martial arts for various reasons. Some just want exercise, others seek technical mastery, others still value intellectual exploration. For some a competitive outlet is the goal and others are seeking structure and discipline. We respect and support all these goals. Here’s what you need to know about us: on top of being crazy passionate about jiu-jitsu we value curiosity, integrity, and effort. Curiosity allows us to be consistently open minded and learning. Integrity motivates us to stay true to the goal of being effective, teaching only techniques and principles that work in real life. Integrity also ensures that we treat our teammates with care and respect. Lastly our value of effort ensures that we stay faithful to the process, consistently practicing in a way that develops mastery over time.
